Paris. New York. Birdsville. Willow, you are a supermodel! We are enjoying our time in this desert town. Though tonight there has been thunder and lightning. Just our luck – we go to the desert and it rains! Oh well, we are safe and dry in our van.

Checking out the Birdsville Racetrack. This little town of 120 fluctuates into the thousands when the races are on every September. They use the event to race money for the Flying Doctors Service – helping those who live thousands of kilometres from hospitals.

We have made the 378km from Windorah to Birdsville in 3 days. The road was pretty good with quite a bit of it sealed.

This is THE perfect climbing tree! We stayed a few nights on the banks of Coopers Creek near Windorah. Tomorrow we are heading to Birdsville on 400km of dirt road.
